DancÉgrity is a dance and movement training program I designed myself. The name DancÉgrity is a combination of Dance and Tensegrity. Tensegrity, in turn, is an English portmanteau of Tension and Integrity. Originally from architecture, it describes a stable framework where the rods don’t touch each other but are held together by cables. Later, the concept was applied to biology: bones are the “rods,” while muscles, tendons, fascia, and connective tissue are the “cables.” The bones essentially float, held together by tension, creating a structure that maximizes strength, flexibility, and resilience.
